Elektroprivreda BiH completes capital overhaul of Block 4 at Tuzla Thermal Power Plant, in operation from October 1

(Patria) - Elektroprivreda BiH has successfully completed the capital overhaul of Block 4 at the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant, thereby extending the
operational life of one of the key energy facilities in the company's production system, significantly improving technical parameters, and increasing the safety and reliability of its operation.

Elektroprivreda BiH invested its own funds in the amount of 30 million KM in the implementation of the project, which will contribute to more stable production and electricity supply.

"The capital overhaul of Block 4 represents an important step in maintaining the availability and safety of Elektroprivreda BiH's production capacities and confirms our commitment to reliable production in accordance with the highest technical and safety standards, and to secure supply. Of particular importance is the return of the Block to operation at the beginning of the heating season, as this facility plays a key role in reliably providing thermal energy for Tuzla and Lukavac," emphasizes Fahrudin Tanović, Executive Director for Production at Elektroprivreda BiH.

The capital overhaul of Block 4 involved a series of complex technical activities, the most significant of which were work on the generator and the replacement of fresh and reheated steam pipelines. The project was carried out in accordance with the planned schedule and all prescribed technical standards, during the period from May to September 2025, and after completed testing and trial operation, the Block was put back into operation on October 1.

The implementation of the project also enables, in the coming period, the takeover of all produced quantities of coal from the mines of the EPBiH Concern, primarily from the Kreka Mine.
