(Patria) - JP Elektroprivreda BiH has commented on the possible electricity price increase. In their 2024-2026 plan, they stated an assumption of a price increase. It should be an average of 10 percent higher from June 1st.
“The decision on changing the price of electricity for customers who have not independently chosen a supplier but are supplied within the public supply service, which includes household customers, is within the jurisdiction of the Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of BiH (FERK)”, stated Elektroprivreda BiH.
They also emphasize that the company must achieve positive operations, and a prerequisite for this is an increase in electricity prices.
“JP Elektroprivreda BiH has not yet submitted a request to FERK for a change in electricity prices for customers supplied within the public supply service. However, in order to ensure energy stability first and foremost, it is necessary to ensure the positive operations of JP Elektroprivreda BiH. In this context, the Proposal for the Business Plan 2024-2026 foresees the initiation of a tariff procedure in 2024”, they stated.
The company's loss in 2023 was a record 140 million KM.
