Efendić visits 'Selzer' and 'Veritas' factories: All automatic transmissions have key components produced in Rajlovac

(Patria) - The Mayor of Novi Grad Sarajevo, Semir Efendić, visited today with associates the factories 'Selzer Group' and 'Veritas Automotive' for the production of parts for the automotive industry in the Rajlovac industrial zone.



In the production facilities in Rajlovac, where auto parts are manufactured for renowned brands of the German and French automotive industry such as BMW, Volkswagen, Mercedes, Audi, Škoda, as well as Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Fiat, and also the American Tesla, about 1,000 young people are employed, with an average age of up to 35 years.

In the factories in Rajlovac, 1.2 million key components for automatic DSG transmissions are produced annually for the needs of the German and French automotive industry.

On this occasion, Mayor Efendić stated that the mere existence and operation of the company 'Selzer' d.o.o. in the area of the Novi Grad municipality is a source of pride for Sarajevo and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, not just for the Novi Grad municipality.

“The construction of the factory began in 2017 and took place in three phases, and today it has about 28,000 square meters of production space. In just six years, an industry has been developed that can serve as a model and be a source of pride for Novi Grad and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is interesting that automatic transmissions for almost the entire European automotive industry are produced here. All French car models have transmissions produced in Rajlovac.



In addition, a large number of cars from the German automotive industry also receive transmissions produced in Rajlovac. Production also covers some other locations, but for French models, all transmissions for new models are produced in Rajlovac. About 1,200,000 transmissions are produced annually in this factory. These are truly impressive figures. In addition to the European automotive industry, auto parts for Tesla vehicle models are also produced in the Novi Grad municipality,” said municipal mayor Semir Efendić.

Annually, 3.6 million components for the same number of Tesla hybrid cars are produced in Rajlovac. This year, the 'Selzer' factory has exports of about 60 million convertible marks, and for next year, production worth about 100 million convertible marks has already been contracted. The plan is for this to reach 100 million euros by 2027.

”This is an example that we in Bosnia and Herzegovina can also be so important on the world map, that such a large number of units, very complex, sophisticated and modern products for the automotive industry, are produced here. This is something that the public really should know, and I think they have not had enough information,” said Mayor Efendić.

Nermina Planinčević, director of Asa Šped d.o.o., emphasized that this company has made a breakthrough in its business model over 10 years, offering business partners from Europe a business model of building production halls according to their needs on a 'turnkey' basis.



“Thus, we realized the business model with the company 'Veritas', but also with the company 'Selzer', which proved to be extremely successful. We currently have 61,000 square meters under roof in two logistics centers located in the Novi Grad municipality, and all facilities, i.e., all halls, are rented out. What is important about this business model with the companies 'Veritas' and 'Selzer', as well as with two other German companies at another location, is that for all these companies we also provide international transport services and export and import customs clearance services, i.e., we handle their complete logistics.

What is also interesting is that about 1,000 workers are employed in these two logistics centers. And this is an impressive example, and what I would like to emphasize is that we had exceptional support from the Novi Grad municipality and Mayor Efendić, and we hope that this will continue, as we plan to continue in the same direction in the future,” concluded Director Planinčević.
