Wonderful views of Lake Rama from the air: 'Like being at the seaside'

(Patria) - Traveling photographer Boris Trogrančić recently revealed another gem of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is the spectacular Lake Rama, artificially created in 1968 on the river Rama.

The lake, with a maximum depth of 95 meters, stretches for 12 kilometers and is located near Blidinje Nature Park, or immediately next to Prozor. Approximately 70 kilometers north of Mostar or 110 kilometers west of Sarajevo.

Boris tells Punkufer.hr that it is common to encounter foreign tourists in the vicinity of the lake, mostly in camps and on beaches. He describes how, due to the ambiance and the scent of the vegetation, he momentarily felt as if he were at the seaside.

This artificial lake is often ranked among the most beautiful in Europe. The surroundings of the lake are ideal for day-trippers and campers, and the rich gastronomic offer is also delightful.

Lake Rama is special due to its numerous islands and peninsulas, the most famous being Šćit.

On this peninsula is also the Franciscan monastery Rama-Šćit, built in the 15th century, which includes an ethnographic museum.
