D DAYS CONFERENCE Banking sector in BiH is extremely liquid and stable

(Patria) - The third business conference D DAYS, titled "Business of the financial and real estate sectors in conditions of 'polycrisis' - only uncertainty is certain!", was held yesterday, 05/30/2023, in Banja Luka and gathered prominent experts, representatives of regulatory bodies, investors, and business leaders from across the region in one place.

The conclusion of the conference is that the banking sector is extremely liquid, well-capitalized, stable, and profitable, and can respond to all challenges due to rising prices and imported inflation in BiH, was the message from bankers and regulators at the third DDays business conference.

One of the participants of the panel 'The banking sector in times of uncertainty – what next?' was the President of the Management Board of ASA Bank, Samir Mustafić, who, during his presentation at the panel, emphasized that the domestic sector is a market participant in the global economy, and that all effects, including inflation, have an impact on BiH, and that as a small economy, we must show speed in mitigating negative effects.

"Generally, within BiH regarding credit growth, we have good capitalization which is the foundation, local liquidity which is also good because money stays within the country. For further progress, fiscal policy is necessary where the state with management structures can influence the stimulation of existing investment potential and increase consumption, and ultimately influence the economic development of the entire country," stated Mustafić, adding that the existence of a strong banking system with a healthy balance of foreign and domestic capital is very important.

During the panel, other segments affecting the stability of the banking system were also discussed, and participants also addressed the importance of a transparent, fast, and efficient decision-making process in crisis situations.
