(Patria) - Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) Senad Softić attended the formal event "Central Banking Summer Meetings" held in London on June 13, 2023. On that occasion, he was presented with the award won by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the category of "Transparency".
The awards ceremony is organized by the media agency "Central banking", founded in 1990 and based in Great Britain. This agency publishes the Central Banking Journal, numerous professional literature, presents prestigious annual awards "Central banking awards", and hosts professional and educational gatherings and conferences for central bankers and representatives of other financial institutions. It covers the operations of central banks and financial regulators in more than 120 countries worldwide for over a quarter of a century. We can proudly say that, among the recipients for 2023, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has found its place, awarded for strengthening integrity and introducing the Ethics Line as an independent anti-corruption tool, as well as for strengthening public communication, which is a rare practice among public sector institutions.
On this occasion, the governor stated:
"Transparency and trust in the work of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina are of utmost importance to us, as this further strengthens the Central Bank's position as an independent institution, with a commitment to always be guided by professionalism in its work, in the interest of the citizens and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the complex institutional structure of our country, the Central Bank has an additional
responsibility to work even harder to ensure monetary stability and serve as an example of a strong, transparent, reliable institution that enjoys the full trust of all citizens.
Therefore, I would like to express our gratitude to Central banking for recognizing our efforts and rewarding our work. We assure you that we will continue to strengthen our capacities in the future in the interest of our economy and our citizens."
This prestigious award is given in 26 categories, 13 for central banks and 13 for financial market participants.
Some of this year's recipients, in addition to CBBH, include: National Bank of Ukraine – in the category "Central bank of the year", Bank of India – in the category "Governor of the year", Central Bank of Brazil – in the category "Reserve manager award", Bank of the Netherlands – in the category "Green initiative award", National Bank of Ukraine and National Bank of Poland – in the category "Currency manager award", and many others.
