SCHMIDT'S REACTION AWAITED Sanja Vlaisavljević stated Kordić is not a war criminal but a rehabilitated human being

(Patria) - The High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt in his address to the UN Security Council today particularly emphasized that genocide in Srebrenica is largely denied in BiH, and war criminals are glorified. Today he even stated that "those war criminals who have been convicted, and after serving their sentences, should refrain from public speaking, unless they express respect for the victims".

At the same time as Schmidt was speaking about these cases that undermine peace in BiH, on N1 television, the Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević, a member of HDZ, stated that after serving their sentences, these individuals must be rehabilitated. The basic rule is that war crimes do not become statute-barred and can always be prosecuted. A war criminal remains a war criminal even after serving their sentence.

However, Vlaisavljević holds a different opinion. Thus, Dario Kordić, convicted of war crimes against the civilian population in Ahmići, is considered rehabilitated by Vlaisavljević.

"He must be rehabilitated in society. He has served his sentence, whoever it may be, for example, if Sanja Vlaisavljević served a sentence for war crimes, what do you think, should we send Sanja Vlaisavljević to Goli otok after serving her sentence and does she not deserve to be a human being because she was tried and convicted," she said.

She agreed with the statement of the President of the Federation of BiH, Lidija Bradara, that "a war criminal is no longer a war criminal after serving their sentence".

"She said it very well. He has served his sentence for war crimes. What do we do with war criminals when they serve their sentences? They must be rehabilitated," Vlaisavljević stated.

After such statements from HDZ officials, the question arises when Schmidt will react.

Otherwise, as reported by Istraga, the memorial mass for the victims of Bleiburg is planned to be held in Stolac this year. The event is scheduled for May 28, according to the association Honorary Bleiburg Water.
