CBBH: Record inflow of current transfers in 2025

(Patria) - According to data from the Central Bank (CB) of BiH, a record level of current transfers was achieved in 2025, reaching 5.92 billion KM.

This result confirms the continuous growth of inflows from abroad and their increasing importance for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Of the total amount of current transfers, personal transfers, i.e., remittances from abroad, account for 4.46 billion KM, while other current transfers amount to 1.46 billion KM.

Compared to the previous year, total current transfers are higher by approximately 230 million KM, while remittances recorded an even more pronounced growth of about 290 million KM.

At the same time, other current transfers recorded a slight decrease of about 63 million KM.

These data clearly indicate the exceptional importance of the diaspora and inflows of funds from abroad for the domestic economy.

Remittances represent a significant source of income for a large number of households, contributing to increased consumption, mitigating social differences, and preserving the living standards of citizens.

In addition to the social aspect, the stable growth of current transfers also has a broader macroeconomic significance, including strengthening foreign exchange reserves, balance of payments stability, and supporting the overall financial stability of the country.

Given the global economic challenges, the continuous growth of these inflows further emphasizes the resilience of BiH's economic ties with its diaspora, as well as the need to create policies that will further strengthen trust and encourage further investments and financial flows from abroad, announced CBBH.
