(Patria) - Couple Tim Collis (58) and Ryan Phelps (53) bought an abandoned building and waiting room of the Cromford railway station in picturesque Derbyshire, England, in 2007.
When they decided to renovate the Victorian building, worth 390,000 British pounds, and turn it into a holiday home, they didn't even know they had acquired a piece of British music history, writes Punkufer.
Indeed, on the abandoned south platform in front of the railway station, photographer Michael Spencer Jones took the cover photo for the 1995 single "Some Might Say" by the British band Oasis.
It is a hit from their second studio album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" - Oasis's first song to reach the top of the UK charts, which propelled them to stardom.
- The man who sold us the building didn't say anything about it, although he had a framed copy of the single cover in storage, so he must have known - Tim Collis told the British media.
When they bought the building, it was extremely neglected and in danger of collapsing.
- There was no glass in the windows, the roof had holes, and there was nothing inside - say the owners.
After extensive and expensive renovation, the building shone with new splendor and received the National Award for the Preservation of Railway Heritage in Great Britain.
Although it is practically in the middle of nowhere - near the village of Cromford, which is 25 kilometers from Derby, many Oasis fans often stop by to take a selfie.
The number of tourists has significantly increased since the Gallagher brothers reconciled and announced their reunion.
