Bosnia and Herzegovina to host international road cycling race in April 2026

(Patria) - Great news for Bosnian-Herzegovinian sport and cycling! The "Tour of Bosnia and Herzegovina" race has been officially included in the UCI international road cycling calendar for 2026. This decision was made by the UCI Management Committee, and according to the official confirmation from the headquarters of the World Cycling Federation, the race will be held from April 17 to 19, 2026, in the Class 2 – Men Elite category.

This news marks a historic moment for cycling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it is the first time our country is organizing its own Tour under the UCI umbrella. Thus, Bosnia and Herzegovina stands alongside European countries with a long tradition of professional cycling.

A race that combines sport, tourism, and country promotion

Organizers emphasize that the inclusion of the race in the official UCI calendar is a huge recognition and confirmation of the quality of the project that has been developing in recent years. Interest in participating in the race has been expressed by 28 countries worldwide, and its inclusion in the UCI calendar opens up the possibility of officially sending invitations to professional teams. It is expected that by April 2026, more than 30 countries and several dozen professional teams will arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will further contribute to the international promotion of the country and stimulate the development of sports tourism.
