Bingo to take over former BBI?

(Patria) - Bingo company from Tuzla intends to take over Aria Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, formerly known as BBI Centar.

BiznisInfo.ba previously wrote that negotiations for the sale of this center had been initiated, but at the time it was not known at what stage the process was or who the potential buyer might be. Now, this information could be confirmed.

The Competition Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina received a notification of concentration on December 22, 2025, by which the company Bingo d.o.o. export-import Tuzla intends to acquire a 100 percent stake in the business entity Central Park Real Estate d.o.o. Sarajevo.

This is the company that owns Aria Mall, which means that if this transaction is realized, Bingo could become the new owner of one of the most attractive shopping centers in Sarajevo.

According to the data from the application, the concentration in question will have an effect on the market for renting and managing own real estate in the Canton of Sarajevo.

This business portal reminds that several businessmen in Sarajevo had previously unofficially confirmed that negotiations were underway for the sale of this center, which is located on the site of the former Sarajka department store.

Aria Mall is currently owned by the company Central Park Real Estate, which is owned by the Islamic Development Bank from Saudi Arabia.

This company operates stably – the year before last, it achieved revenues of around 15.5 million KM and a profit of approximately 6.3 million KM, which represents a slight improvement compared to previous years.

The Competition Council of BiH has invited all interested parties to submit any remarks and opinions within eight days of the publication of the notice.

After this period expires, the regulator's decision is expected, which will confirm or reject this concentration.

If the transaction receives approval, it would be one of the largest acquisitions in the retail and real estate sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina in recent years.
