Baby Lasagna on Eurovision, second place and the split of votes: The jury won't come to your concerts

(Patria) - Baby Lasagna commented on the result after his Eurovision performance at three in the morning.

“I'm surprised how happy I am. I thought I'd be sadder, like we lost, but I'm not sad at all, I'm actually happy,” he said after returning to the hotel with his team at 3 a.m.

“It was great on the Eurovision stage and I'm really glad that, after everything, all of us in the team agreed that we really gave our best. We couldn't have done better at this moment. We didn't miss anything, everything was done exactly as we imagined, as it should have been. We won't go to bed thinking: 'Maybe it would have been better if we had done that differently.' No, we did our best,” he added in an interview with Jutarnji list.

He is glad, he says, because he received the most votes from the audience.

“I said earlier: 'No jury will come to your concerts, but the audience will.' In short, I am happy and satisfied. It was great, it was tense, I'm glad we finished second. Of course, I would have preferred to finish first. I think we gave it our all and the audience showed that we did something good after all. I think we can be proud of this second place. I am proud of it,” he noted.

“I heard that almost all of Croatia watched our Eurovision performance, and I also heard that there will be a welcome reception on Sunday afternoon at the Square in Zagreb, regardless of the fact that we didn't win. Yes, I heard all that and I'm glad about it, although I don't know any details or the musical program of the reception. But I'm looking forward to that too, I'll try to get some sleep before all that,” added the Croatian representative, whose arrival in Zagreb is expected around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

He announced that he will have concerts all summer, work on new songs, shoot music videos and release an album in early autumn.

“One of the performances awaiting me is the one at Sea Star in my Umag, which I'm really looking forward to. But honestly, I'm looking forward to all future performances, I'm looking forward to meeting the audience,” he said, and commented on the Swiss victory.

“Nemo had great support from the audience in addition to the jury, and for good reason. His song is fantastic, I think he deserved the win,” he concluded.
