Autoceste FBiH explain reasons for temporary suspension of works on Vranduk - Ponirak section

(Patria) - Public Company (JP) Autoceste FBiH issued a press release today explaining the reasons for the temporary suspension of works on the Vranduk - Ponirak section.

By decision of the Management Board of JP Autoceste FBiH from July 20, 2023, works on the Vranduk - Ponirak section construction site have been temporarily suspended due to the indicated need to harmonize project documentation and conduct an additional analysis of the construction costs of the Vranduk - Ponirak highway section, especially in the part related to deviations from the contracted works.

Upon reviewing the contractor's work program, and the fact that works are not being carried out on more than 50% of the contracted route, it was necessary to avoid unnecessarily high costs of delays and temporarily suspend the works.

The decision on the temporary suspension of works implies that all necessary actions for slope stabilization have been taken, the works have been conserved, and materials and equipment have been concentrated in the construction camps for safekeeping.

During the period of temporary suspension of works, JP Autoceste FBiH will conduct a detailed analysis of the investor's current contractual position, taking into account all temporarily paid amounts, contractual documents, as well as the new main project that is in progress.

Based on the foregoing, an assessment of the unexecuted part of the project will be made, both according to current market values and according to the values determined in the existing contract.

Upon completion of the cost analysis and preparation of the missing project documentation, the continuation of works on the construction site will commence.

JP Autoceste FBiH is actively working on resolving the identified problems to continue the construction of this section, in accordance with contractual rights and obligations, and is undertaking all activities to protect the investor's interest, about which we will further inform the public as soon as the first analysis results are processed.
