OPERATION START: Business premises, apartments, passenger vehicles searched, documentation, money, and expensive jewelry found

(Patria) - Under the supervision of the acting prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton are carrying out an operational-tactical operation codenamed "START". More than 150 police officers of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton are on the ground.

Searches are being conducted in the municipalities of Stari Grad, Novo Sarajevo, Vogošća, and Ilidža - at more than 20 locations. The searches include residential buildings, business and official premises, and passenger motor vehicles.

So far in the operation, documentation, and certain amounts of cash and expensive jewelry have been found and seized. Several passenger motor vehicles have also been temporarily seized.

The operational-tactical operation involves more than 10 individuals and legal entities suspected of organized crime and abuses in amounts of several million. Activities are being carried out in coordination with EUROPOL and relate to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, as well as corrupt criminal offenses of abuse of office or authority, and receiving and giving gifts.
