Operation Square: Detention sought for Ibrišimović, Hamzić, and Kukić

(Patria) - Investigating prosecutors of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of KS proposed to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo to order one-month detention for the suspects Amir Ibrišimović, Ismet Hamzić, and Emir Kukić, who were apprehended in an operation named Square.

Detention has been proposed for suspect Ibrišimović due to the risk of flight and the risk that he might re-offend if released, while for Hamzić and Kukić it has been proposed due to the risk of re-offending. 

The KS Prosecutor's Office accuses them of undertaking illegal actions from 2009 until their apprehension, as part of an organized group, in order to gain unlawful financial benefit by abusing their positions and forging documents in a manner that they unlawfully acquired ownership of land, traded a number of properties in the Sarajevo Canton that could not be traded, thereby gaining an unlawful financial benefit of at least 4 million marks.

As stated in the press release from the KS Prosecutor's Office, the mentioned actions were carried out by the members of the aforementioned group with the assistance of several lawyers and notaries, based on which entries were made regarding the ownership of land and properties to other persons who are not the actual owners, and such properties were resold to third parties.
