10th ANNIVERSARY EDITION Bentbaša Cliff Diving to feature jumpers from BiH and the region

(Patria) - Sarajevo's Bentbaša recreational area will host the most successful jumpers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region this year, and this year's 10th anniversary edition of the diving event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton.

On this occasion, last week at the Bentbaša dam, the co-financing agreement was signed by Minister Kenan Magoda and the president of the SpoTur association and competition organizer Dino Bajrić.

Minister Magoda stated that "Bentbaša Cliff Diving" is one of those events that positions Sarajevo on the map of cultural and sports events.

“The tenth anniversary is not a small thing for the city of Sarajevo. I am glad that the organizer is nurturing this tradition at this location, which is in the hearts of all Sarajevo citizens, and that something respectable has been made of it. I wish good luck to all competitors, the organizer, and let's all come and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the Old Town and at the beautiful Bentbaša. What makes me happy is that the jumps will be accompanied by a musical part, and of course, work is also being done on cleaning the Miljacka riverbed, which is certainly an additional benefit,” said Minister Magoda.

Organizer and one of the jumpers, Dino Bajrić, said that this year there will be a rich program and good jumps.

“This year we expect an exceptionally rich program, and what is most important for the competition itself is safe and good jumps, because diving itself is among the five most extreme water sports, so the safety aspect is the most important for the organizer, and then everything else,” said Bajrić.

He pointed out that in previous years, about 50 percent of the guests at the Bentbaša jumps were foreign tourists, which is certainly significant for this event.

The "Bentbaša Cliff Diving" competition will be held on August 4, and at least 25 competitors will participate, performing in two categories.
